Marlene's is your go-to place for natural and organic, hard to find items. Friendly, helpful staff, AND they make the best sandwiches!! My daughter loves their incense, so I always pick some up for her. The produce is delicious, and they have a large selection of bulk food items.
I love the variety and selection of organic and more local foods. I’m gluten free and can always count on an interesting cake or sandwich in the deli. Sometimes they run low on things, especially veggies, and they don’t have much meat for sale. But great to stock the pantry, grab lunch and find a good supplement. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking can be difficult on the weekends.
One of my all time favorite places to shop... Their deli foods are amazing!!! Some of the best salads, soups, sandwiches, desserts etc. I have been blessed to enjoy!!! Most kind & wonderful employees and such a lovely atmosphere!!! ...
Much as I love and appreciate the quality of produce offered, I love and appreciate the staff at the Tacoma store. All these folks care about the food they offer, the growers who grow it, and they work hard to bring in the freshest possible from as close as possible. All this care is part of the value offered. Thanks ever so much to Joe and Whitney in produce, Erin in bulk foods, Candace chasing cheeses and such, Kevin and Joe and Joanie, Jen and wunderkind leader Francesca---you folks don't just jog the extra mile but run it, and folks all over Tacoma benefit. The staff always helps and are well versed on product. The salad bar is fresh and great alternative to fast food. It is a little pricey but worth it. Deli has great options.
Marlene's has always been a place with impeccable service, lovely choices and fair prices for the local, quality foods that they offer. Their selection can't be bettered. Their staff is amazingly friendly and informed. The deli tops the best in Tacoma, they have a small selection of Fair Trade gift items and specialty clothing created by contentious individuals. They may see a bit pricey, BUT if you want to be sure that you are eating real food and not microplastic, and you want the kind of services that requires knowledgeable individuals........This is it and the Fare is more than fair.
Today was the first time my friend Barb had eaten at Marlene's. She had no idea they served food. We ordered the #3 half sandwich with Toscana soup. It was incredible and she has become a fan. The photo of the sandwich just shows how much is in it. Very generous indeed!
I can't express just how excited I was to find out Marlene's in Tacoma has bulk, bulk herbs, spices, etc. I am trying to used herbs for natural healing for my family, and I am so very thankful for Marlene's!!! They have everything, if they don't they can most likely get it for you! I have also met people in the bulk aisle that are there for the exact same reasons. I think it is very important to have the option to get as much or as little as I want/need. So please Marlene's don't change, we need you and thank you so very much! A lot of people are switching to more natural remedies and this is PERFECT!
